How the visit works
The inspection takes about 45 minutes to an hour. James will walk the exterior of the home, check the roofline from the ground (and from a ladder where needed), and get into the attic if there’s safe access. You don’t need to do anything to prepare beyond clearing a path to the attic hatch if it’s blocked.
If there’s work to be done, you get a written estimate before anyone leaves. If there isn’t - which does happen, sometimes the noise turns out to be the furnace or settling lumber - you get told that, and there’s no charge for the visit either way.
Helpful to know before we come
- What time of day you’re hearing the noise
- Roughly where in the house (front, back, north side, etc.)
- How long you’ve been hearing it
- Whether you’ve seen anything outside (animals on the roof, around the foundation)
